General Superintendent’s vision for missions

Rev. Israël N'sembe“The purpose of the training that will take place here [speaking of the Lubumbashi Bible School ] is not just for missions in the Congo, but throughout Africa, and even to America—to bless you as you have blessed us.”

Rev. Israël N’SEMBE
General Superintendent, Assemblies of God, DR Congo

The impact of training

Trained AG leaders in DRC in 2006 Established AG Bible schools in 2006 (black dots) Target cities where we are working to establish new Bible schools (red dots) # Trained AG pastors in each province in 2006.

Wherever Bible school training has been established in DR Congo, there has been a dramatic multiplication of laborers, and an explosion of evangelism and church-planting in the surrounding areas. The same thing happened in the province of Asia when Paul spent two years training disciples in Ephesus. As the number of workers multiplied, the Word was being preached everywhere, and a church-planting movement was born. This is what we are praying for in the provinces that we are targeting, where so few had been trained.

Former Muslim preparing for ministry in Bukavu

Joseph with Bill Shaw in BukavuJoseph, a Muslim background believer, was in Saudi Arabia studying Shari’ah law when he began searching for references to Jesus Christ on the internet. Through his searching he became a Christian and is now preparing for ministry at our Bible school extension in Bukavu. Joseph’s mother is Congolese and his father is an Omani citizen. We are excited about what God is doing in Joseph’s life. Please join us in praying for him during this important season of formation and training.

Resolving conflict in the Sud-Kivu Province

Pastor Patrick Kahongya“The Bukavu Bible School Extension has played a key role in resolving the conflict between tribes in the Sud-Kivu Province. Because of God’s grace and the work that He has done among our students, there is no more conflict in the church.”
